Similar specific requirements are outlined for all 24 disciplines, including Anatomy, Bio-chemistry, E.N.T., F.M. & T., General Medicine, Microbiology, O & G, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Paediatrics, Pathology, Pharmacology, Physiology, Psychiatry, Radio-diagnosis, Radio-Therapy (MKCG), Community Medicine, Dermatology, General Surgery, T.B. & C.D., Emergency Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Radiation Oncology.
It is important to note that candidates who were appointed as Assistant Professor in a Medical College before June 8, 2017, without Senior Residency experience as per previous guidelines are exempted from the one-year Senior Residency requirement for applying for Assistant Professor in another Medical College. Similarly, candidates working as Assistant Professor before June 8, 2017, to undergo SR ship are exempted from the teaching experience requirement of one year in the concerned subject.
The PDF also clarifies the equivalence of Diplomate of National Board (DNB) qualifications. DNB in Broad Speciality and Super Speciality from a medical institution with an attached hospital or a hospital with 500 or more beds, granted by the National Board of Examinations, shall be equivalent in all respects to the corresponding Broad Speciality (M.D./M.S.) and Super Speciality (D.M./M.Ch.) postgraduate qualification. However, in other cases, one year of Senior Residency in a medical college shall be required for such qualifications to be considered equivalent for teaching purposes.
